Kind of disgusting...Sorry

This is going to sound pretty gross - but you guys are the only people I can ask.

I started my period this morning - I just used the bathroom and in the toilet it looked like strings of bloody mucus (spelling?).
If I have experienced this before I never noticed.
Now to be really gross....I wanted to see if it just looked stringy...so I tried to pick it up with tissue....it just kind of hung off of the toilet paper.

What the heck ?! Is this normal and I've just never paid attention?

Thank you

Love & Hugs,
Michelle

Have you had any biopsies of your cervix or anything like that?

Hi Katiebelle,

Nope, no biopsies. I just had a papsmear in Dec & again in March and everything there was okay. Would cervical problems be detected with that?

I'm beginning to think I have Adeno....I'll have to research & see if 'bloody mucus' goes with it.

Thank you.... I am heading to your Xanax post now.

Love & Hugs,
Michelle

Hi...yes...I had that a few times. Was it like mucous-like? I think sometimes it's just some stuff from the lining of your uterus that comes out in the blood. If it keeps on happening...I would call your Dr. just to check. Good Luck!

mucus

My period has always been heavy and with a lot of mucus and clots, but that is the norm for me. I would ask your doctor about it. Mine turned out to be nothing but huge fibroids causing all that mucus. Good luck

I had it too during the first period following a round of Provera. Dr told me my period might be weird and it was. Kinda like colorless clots...never had it again.

Yes

I have had that during every period of my entire life.
Now since this is new for you, you should check with your Dr. but I have always had it. Along with clots.
Good luck

passing a mass?

Recently I was on primulot which is progesterone to stop my excessive bleeding. I passed a disgusting mass which looked like spotted porridge - and it was sooo painful. Were your periods normal before u passed the mass and were u taking progesterone or other drug? Are u menopausal etc? Some times our uterus builds up and up instead of shedding monthly it sheds in one giant rush, that could be one reason. (mine did after having no periods for 3 months) The 'pill' has worked for me so far when nothing else has. I'm 50 and am waiting for a hysterectomy. First gyny said fibroids, 2nd said, no fibroids, so I'm going to a third! woo hoo - Third time lucky - and I'm petrified
: ( Some times our bodies just do a thing once and never again. Good lucky darling.

Hi Ladies,

Thank you all for your help ! I swear - I love this site more & more everyday !!

Yetserdays blood tinged mucous has now turned into full blown flooding & clots - life seems to be back to normal. Geez ...isn't it sad that horrid cycles are the 'norm' for all of us?

Hugs ,
Michelle
