caregiver after hysterectomy?

I am 10 days post opp and came straight home on my own. I live alone but have had a family member come over once a day to do the things i cant. Recovery is different for everyone but i am fine 23.5 hours out of the day alone

Everyone's recovery is different. But, you should plan on a typical recovery, not one that is easy and breezy. You only get one chance to heal right, and if you push yourself too hard too fast you can damage yourself.

We are all so different and will each have a recovery experience that's unique to us. I agree with ((Marestail)), it's best to prepare for a typical recovery. My husband stayed home with me for a week and I'm glad he did. I was told I would stay one night in hospital, but I ended up staying for two as my pain was not well controlled. When I came home I needed help showering and drying off. I had no appetite and it was a relief to have hubby prepare me food and encourage me to eat... Otherwise I wouldn't have eaten at all. I had difficulty sitting or standing for any length of time for the first 5-6 days. For the first few days at home, hubby set his alarm through the night and woke me to take my pain meds. You will need someone to drive for you until your doctor clears you to do so.

I have 3 cats and have had a mastectomy in addition to my hysterectomy and I find they gradually pick up on my cues on where not to sit. Until then, a pillow in your lap will protect you from sudden pounces. Have someone else do the litter if possible or put a small stool by the litter box and sit on it while scooping. It's better than bending or squatting. But don't carry the dirty bag outside as it may be too heavy.
