contact lenses

Hello

I am so glad that I found this site. It is wonderful and so helpful.
I have learned so much over the last several months.

I am having a TVH on April 25, and I was wondering about contact lenses. I suppose you have to remove them for surgery. I can barely see without them and am worried about being able to see after surgery. I'm sure I won't be feeling like trying to put them in, but would like to be able to see. What did you do?

do you have any glasses? i too am a contact wearer and keep my sunglasses (for mowing my acres) up to date, however, i haven't had my "regurlar" glasses updated in a few years...shame on me....but i used them anyway. (i'm nearsighted)

i can't see a thing...and you are right you don't feel like putting them in, at least i didn't. Can you get some before surgery? i didn't wear my contacts for a while after i got home because i could fall asleep at the drop of a hat and you know how sleeping in contacts is....

I've just been wondering almost the same thing about my glasses. Where will I put them and where will they be when I need them? I'm blind as a bat and would prefer to see faces, not fuzzy ovals.

Hey there! I went through the EXACT same thing. I am blind as a bat without my contacts. I also wear the "night and day" contacts, so I sleep in them as well. so I thought "hmmm just MAYBE I could keep them in during my surgery!" WRONG! I tried on more than one occasion to talk the nurses into letting me keep them in. But the last time I asked I was told that they make you take them out because if by some "off" chance something rubbs over your eyes during surgery it could cause a corneal abbrasion. So I said "OH OK!" I was still pretty groggy when I did put my contacts in that day but it wasn't really that hard. But the difference with mine was I CAN sleep in mine. So I didn't have to worry about snoozing in them. If funds exhist for you I would strongly recommend either invest in a box of those or in some glasses. Good luck in your journey to the Castle. May it be uneventful and you have a speedy recovery.
Much Love
Carrie
