Dermabond incision-anyone else?

Hi,

I am 2-3 weeks post op withe dermabond incision. It is getting crusty and coming off a little. I had a little clear drainage too. Not much just a spot. Is this all normal? Anyone tell me their experience with this?

Re: Dermabond incision-anyone else?

Yes, that's exactly what's supposed to happen.
The glue on one of my incisions fell off at about 7 days but the others behaved exactly as you described and my doc was very, very pleased about how I was healing at my 2 week check-up.

Re: Dermabond incision-anyone else?

Yes, it is- that's the stuff scabs are made of- sort of the "glue" our bodies produce naturally to close wounds.

Re: Dermabond incision-anyone else?

To better understand the seepage, google "What Are Scabs Made of?"
There are several good explanations of the platelets and protiens involved.

Re: Dermabond incision-anyone else?

The Dermabond scab in my belly button came off today. Looks great! Can't even tell I had surgery! Vitamin E oil at 14 days and out helps!!
