Do sperm carry bacteria?

Just wondering. Even though DH and I attempted sex and was not succesful, This Saturday is my 1st wedding anniversary and DH would like that night be the first night that he....... well you know - doesn't pull out. So is there a certain date where it's safe to... "let the flow go?" I told him not to get his hopes up too much, b/c if my body isn't ready then he isn't gettin' any. He'll have to wait right along with me. But if my body is ready and I dont' risk the chance that the sperm could cause an infection, then I'm up for it.

I'd check w/your doc on that one. I know that it's protein-based and good for skin and hair (ha-ha) but that gets old rather quickly, doesn't it. I would think it's sterile but the vas deferens may not be. Good luck and be sure to lube yourself very well.
