Been thinking and have a couple of ??'s

I had a TAH/BSO with the cervix removed. Since reading all the posts here, I have a couple of questions. Do all vaginal hysterectomies involve having the cervix removed?
Second question is...if you keep the overies, but have a cuff, how does the DR check your overies?? I think the anesthesia fog is lifting and I'm starting to question and look for answers .

No idea about your first Q, but I had my cervix out since I have a family history of cervical cancer we all felt better deal to take it out and be dun with it.

as to your second Q ... an internal ultra sound can see them the cuff doesn't get in the way what so ever - lol I had three internals 72 hours after my hyster because of a cuff infection.

Hiya, I had a TAH but also had my cervix taken away. Due to a haematoma i formed i had to have three internal scans within a week of surgery to check its size ect and each time they could see my ovaries clearly so i would imagine that is what they may do to answer your 2nd question

Hi, vaginal hysterectomies remove cervix. The doctors can palpate the ovaries from the outside and ultrasound from inside and out.

the cervix has to be removed with a vaginal hysterectomy. the dr can still feel the ovaries and also do ultrasounds to check them.
