TLH in 6 days

Hi ladies.

So my TLH is scheduled for Monday. I feel numb inside knowing that my condition requires surgery and having no out. I think I have cried it all out but there are moments.

Have any of you ever went in for a TLH and ended up requiring a TAH? My doctor mentioned the possibility of a TAH if there is a lot of scar tissue, and I suspect that this will be my route of surgery. I have had scar tissue between a previous myomectomy and my 2 C-sections, so I anticipate it being no different.

Did anyone ever also find out really bad news once you were in recovery? i.e., "oh, things looked rough and the doctor suspects cancer?"

Just curious. Thank you!

Re: TLH in 6 days

I'm sure people have, everyone is different. And I think that's the big thing, the lack of knowing (control) in advance that makes the waiting so hard. I had my appendix out when I was young and that had a big scar. I had *no* complications or adjustments made to my surgery. The only thing that was different was it took a little longer than anticipated because my uterus was so large, he had to take his time and get it out vaginally still. I think they just have to cover their bases for those times when change is needed.

I hope you'll do just fine!!
