bowel prep question

My doctor did not say anything about bowel prep. Will the hospital give instructions at my pre-op or does the doctor tell you about it? I have severe irritable bowel syndrome so dont want to do anything that will make that worse.

Depends on when your surgery is. My pre-op appt was not until the day before my surgery. With everything I read on this website I decided to call my dr and ask about it. I'm glad I did because I needed to start a liquid diet 48 hours before my surgery and then the bowel prep the afternoon before. If all else fails, call your doctor and ask.

Not all dr's require a bowel prep. Mine didn't. Hope all goes well for you!
