Newbie and nervous.

Hi.

I'm 33 year old, single with 2 kids from previous relationship. I have been in and out of the colposcopy clinic regularly for the last 12 years, have had various treatments but got the phone call on Friday that the cin is back and the most logical treatment choice (especially because I have had very heavy bleeds all my life too) is now hysterectomy , which has been scheduled for 3rd May.

At this time I have no real details other than a surgery date. I'm waiting to here about the pre-op meeting which will hopefully give me more details.

I'm obviously nervous, and feeling a little alone and hoping that I can turn here for a little support.

Re: Newbie and nervous.

It is completely understandable that you are nervous, but you are NOT ALONE, that is for sure. You have definitely come to the right place for information and support. This site helped me so much through my journey. I really don't know what I would have done without it.

I was nervous before my surgery as well.....who wouldn't be?? I found that I was mostly scared of the unknown and the waiting was awful!! But I found so much information here, that I didn't really have an "unknown" to be afraid of. Have a look around. I am sure you will find answers to any of your pre-op questions. There are so many women going through this same thing as well as those who have been there before. We are all here for each other and do our best to help each other through this difficult time.

Again, welcome and if you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask!!

Re: Newbie and nervous.

I too was very nervous because my doctor was unsure if a TLH would be possible or have to perform an abdominal surgery. I am 13 days post-op and was able to have the TLH. Even with pain from surgery it has been wonderful not having pain or excessive bleeding from my condition(adenomyosis). Good luck with your surgery. We are all here for you!

Re: Newbie and nervous.

Thank you all for the replies... once I have more information about the type of surgery I'm having I'll probably be here with a hundred questions. I'm still just trying to get my head around it all.
