days in hospital?

I am having a TAH with both ovaries removed on July 14. I am hoping to be able to go home the next day and only have one night in the hospital. My husband and father say I am being "unreasonable". I hate being in the hospital, but they want me to stay "as long as they will keep you".

Could you princesses please advise me on this subject?
Has anyone been able to have a TAH with only one night in the hospital?

I had a TAH/BSO , that is the same as you will have.

I went in Tuesday morn. out Thursday morn. Sorry 2 nights.

I slept the whole first day.

I had ath/bso on Monday and went home on Thursday. Stay as long as you can so that you have someone to take care of you. I don't want to worry you but this is no trip to the dentist! This is going to take a toll on you body. You need to rest as much as you can. When you come home too soon you tend to do to much. Take care of yourself and let the hospital staff take care of you! Your doctor will know what is best for you.

I had a TAH/BSO on Monday afternoon and came home Wednesday a.m. Tuesday morning I still had oxygen, catheter, leg pumps (whatever they are called) and IV. I hadn't even been up to walk until almost noon, or had anything to eat. And after a walk up and down the hall needed a nap. By evening I probably could have gone home after several more walks up and down the halls and after eating. I was more than ready to go home on Wednesday a.m.
