Re: happy 4th of july?
I'm watching my news feed filling up with friends having fun. Meanwhile, I've taken 2 naps and my greatest achievement of the day is that I'm still managing to keep down the only meal I've eaten today, which was 8 hours ago. They're all celebrating freedom, and I just want to be free of my condition.

happy 4th of july?
I see you are a day before me, so we can follow each other. Do you mind sharing what you are having dine? I'm hoping for a simple TVH.... and trying not to let my nerves get to me. Luck has not been on my side this year, but trying to stay positive.
Take care.

Re: happy 4th of july?
I'm having a TAH. My uterus us up above my navel and I look 5 months pregnant. One of my fibroids is the size of a Nerf football and I have 3 the size of a newborn's head. Then there are all the smaller ones. "Too many to count," she said. Tell me about yours.

happy 4th of july?
Mine is hormone migraine driven. My neurologist suggested a tubal ligation since we were done having kids so that I wouldn't need to be on the pill any longer since he thought that they were causing my migraines. Well... we decided to throw in an ablation to take care of my heavy bleeding. My surgery was a month ago.... tubal was fine but the machine failed and clipped the inside of my uterus. Once there is a perforation, they can't do the ablation.
Honestly, I'm escaping the heavy bleeding, awful cramping, and the migraines that they bring on. I am done with the endless array of pills that they can offer. The surgeon and I had a long talk and this was our plan. Fingers crossed. I have 4 year old and 9 year old daughters at home along with a husband that works opposite shifts so this will be an entertaining recovery.
That's the gist of my tale. Lol

Re: happy 4th of july?
Hi ladies I'm right there with you on the 21st of July. Scheduled for a lavh. I have ovarian cysts lots of pain and crazy heavy periods to where I'm tied to the house first couple of days off my cycle. I'm so tied of the pain and the mess ready to be done. I'm not nervous about the surgery. To busy to be nervous really. Pack next week for a week long camping fishing vacation. Come home have pre op Friday and surgery Monday. I have older and younger kids at home. Dh will take first week off with me. Daughter will help after that and teen son. My four little boys ages 9 8 8 7 will be ok. They will help when they can but my daughter will deal with them when they need help and meals. I will probably start my period the day before surgery.

Re: happy 4th of july?
Thanks to Lupron, my last period was over a month ago. Also thanks to Lupron, I feel like death warmed over. But it's shrinking the tumours and my uterus, so I'm trying to tell myself the nonstop side-effects are worth it.

happy 4th of july?
Wow, doloresc. 4 boys under age 10, it sounds like you have a busy family. My 9 year old daughter will be my primary helper at home while dh is at work, but my mom works part time so she will prob be stopping in quite a bit in the early days to help out. I think I'm more nervous about the recovery than the actual surgery. I have also had some mixed emotions about my surgeon that I'm trying to let go, it's not that she isn't skilled or qualified- but I think she botched my ablation and blamed it on the machine. Idk. I know now that it was prob doomed to happen but I think she could have been more upfront. Sorry to ramble. Lol.

We will all get through this and be fine. Peg sorry about the Lupron and the side effects. A few more weeks. Leanne I could see where you would have second thoughts about your doctor after what happened with the ablation.

Re: happy 4th of july?
Apparently there's a stomach bug going around town. This might explain why my greatest accomplishment yesterday was keeping down the only meal I ate.
