LAVH Scheduled/Pre Op Scheduled!!!!:) (children mentioned)

I AM NERVOUS and excited!! I am still in a lot of pain and on period on lupron. but just ten minutes ago my scheduler called me and they got me in way early!! Just got off phone ten min ago,
I am scheduled for my LAVH on Mon October 3rd and pre op on Wed. Sept. 28th!!!
WoW i WAS GONNA HAVE TO WAIT TILL END OF OCTOBER OR NOVEMBER NOW I FEEL LIKE I AM SCRAMMING FOR THINGS.
I STILL HAVE YET TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH MY LITTLE ONE. MOST GIRLS I KNOW ARE IN WORK. MY MOM IN LAW COULD HELP THOUGH. BUT SHE IS ALSO BUSY WITH TWO GIRLS IN HER CUSTODY WHO GO TO TWO DIFFERENT SCHOOLS.

What questions should I ask at Pre -op?

Any other advice to give?
any needs at hopsital for me to bring? I am staying overnight.

Ive been loosing sleep every night now i really will.

Re: LAVH Scheduled/Pre Op Scheduled!!!!:) (children mentioned)

Is your husband in a position that he can assist? Talk to your mother in law and your husband together to see if they can work some kind of system out? My husband and I don't have kids but we have an 8 month old pup thta we are trying to get everything figured out with and its been kind of a pain so I couldn't imagine trying to get it figured out for a kid.

Re: LAVH Scheduled/Pre Op Scheduled!!!!:) (children mentioned)

My husband will help on weekends when he can or in night. He leaves for work between 5:30AM and doesnt' get home till 8:30 or later at night all week. My poor husband works very hard for me.
spoke to mother in law today she gonna take four year old sunday and monday and pick me up from hospital tuesday. She will come over every day after that to help with meals or whatever. And I am sure if I need her to take my son again she will.
I was worried. Still am but I can't wait to get this over I am in sooo much pain I am crying right now. sick of it.
Good luck with your puppy thing. Puppy is easier. I have 4 and 11 year old.

Sounds tough. Just lean on your mom-in-law. That's what she is for. As for the 11 year old. She/he will just have to help out with chores and watching the little one. Just remember you can only do very little and they will have to just help out. I know it's easier said than done but all will work out in the end. Family is always there when needed.

Good luck!! Hugs.

Re: LAVH Scheduled/Pre Op Scheduled!!!!:) (children mentioned)

At your pre-op ask how long u will have to take it easy...I was told NO housework or chores for 3 weeks. I have a 21 month old toddler and I can't lift him, so it can be difficult. Tell the Dr what u are worried about, tell him u do not have much help, maybe he can give u suggestions or at least tell u what u can and can't do. Can their dad take a vacation? That's what my husband did. You won't be able to drive either, so try and get groceries and things your kids will need before surgery. I cleaned my house and made sure I had jobs for everyone..like my daughter is in charge of washing clothes and towels. It helps if u have a game plan. Maybe u can have movies ready for u and your little one, make it "fun" for him to lay with mom and relax. I bet he will help u out a lot. Write down your questions as u think of them because I forgot half the stuff I was going to ask! And keep asking us questions! We r here to help!
