Finally, I have a date!

Dec 4 is my D-day with Pre-Op Nov 30. I want to thank all of you for the great ideas on this forum, you have helped me immensely in preparing for surgery. I will be having a TAH w/ bladder sling & tummy tuck. I knew the surgery would be coming but I thought that I would have more time than this, I just found out yesterday. I ordered the swelly belly band this morning- there's a chance my insurance will pay for it(thank goodness).
If anyone has more tips, please let me know. I am preparing my room which is conveniently next to the restroom. I am also going to get my Christmas decorating done so I don't have to worry about that.
Maybe, it will be better for me being not so far off as I won't have much time to fret. So once again, any help will be greatly appreciated.

God Bless Everyone & you all have a nice Thanksgiving.

Finally, I have a date!

Something that I found helpful was having ready to heat and eat meals available. I cooked some myself and bought more. I stocked up on healthy snacks and fruit juices too. I had books, movies and such ready for my recovery. I cleaned and straightened ahead so that my house would be in pretty good order. Staying busy helped get through the wait

Karen- Sounds like you are really getting things ready. I am also having my surgery Dec 4 with pre-op Nov 30. We are going to do our decorating this weekend and the shopping that isn't done will be done on the internet. So far I think the one tip that really stands out is to have a bag (fanny pack, small purse) to hook to the bed with all the things you need at hand (chap stick, tissues, etc). Best of luck to you!!!! I also live in WV.

Thanks Japennington for the great suggestion, that would keep all the little stuff from rolling around. I wish you the best on your surgery. I am from northern WV, & you?

Finally, I have a date!

We only got some rain yesterday, I hope that we get some snow. I am starting my decorating today, it is going to be low key this year. My bro gave me a 4 foot tree instead of my big 7 footer so it'll be easy to put away later. I love having the Christmas decorations out as it brightens up the house, at least I will be here to enjoy them.

Finally, I have a date!

We are putting our tree up tonight. This is my last weekend off before sugery (I work every other weekend) so it will be the last time dh is there to help. I think that we are just going to decorate inside this year. DH is glad about that. I hope you get some snow.
