Pain wont go away

I am 4 weeks post-op today. Pain has returned to level close to day 3-4. Pain is very sharp. Cant sleep well, hard to get anything done. Put call into Drs on Tuesday but no one has called me back. Should I be concerned? Or is this normal? No fever, no additional swelling.

Re: Pain wont go away

Sorry to hear about your pain.

That is good you called your doctor to be on the safe side.

In recovery we will have good days & bad days, and sometimes the pain will be more.

What type of pain is it?

I had pain in my 3rd week & the first couple of days into my 4th week. It was a burning, pulling sort of pain, kind of felt like fire spots. I took 2 Advil every 6 hours and rested a bit more. It felt better when I walked around though, but would really flare up if I over did it.

In the middle of my 4th week, the pain went away and I felt good ever since. I'm 6 weeks post-op today.

I hope you get some relief for your pain and the rest of your recovery is smooth & easy!

Re: Pain wont go away

Sharp pain, stabbing pain that wakes me out of a deep sleep. Hard to take a deep breath. I do walk everyday. Painful even when I dont have the sharp pain. Was due to go back to work on Monday. How do you work with this pain level??? Why dont the Drs warn us about all this pain? Especially the pain AWAY from where my uterus was? Ive put off going back for two more weeks to give my body more time. Havent taken pain meds cause I dont want to rely on it. (except Ibuprofen)

(Later) Spoke with nurse at Drs office. Seeing Dr tomorrow morning. Told me to hit the ER if pain gets worse or I get a fever. Keep you all posted! Thanks!
