LAVH question

Just wondering for those of you who have had it how long your hospital stay was. I don't have an exact date yet. Will be sometime in may or June but just trying to get everything in order.

Re: LAVH question

I went home the same day. My surgery was the first one of the morning and I was in my own bed by 6PM. When my doc said same day I was concerned, and he said I could stay the night if I needed to or wanted to. In order to leave I had to walk, pee, eat solid food and keep it down, and have pain under control with oral meds. I really didn't have much pain. A lot of women spend one night. Hope this helps!

Re: LAVH question

my surgery is supposed to be first thing in the morning too, but since I have never had a major surgery they are keeping me over night to make sure I don't have any reaction to anesthesia. they said I could go home the following morning

Re: LAVH question

I had surgery 6 days ago. My doc required at least one night in the hospital to make sure there were no complications. I was home by lunch time the next day.

Re: LAVH question

Thanks ladies! Sounds like most doctors want their patient in at least one night. I'm ok with that anyway.

Re: LAVH question

My surgery was on the 28th & I was suppose to go home the following day. I ended up having to stay another night as my bladder was stressed from surgery. I think it depends on your dr, insurance & what time of day your surgery is scheduled for. Mine was 12 noon, so I think that's why I was required a night stay. If its earlier, you may go home later in the afternoon.

Re: LAVH question

I'm lucky to not have to worry about insurance as I live in Ontario. So greatful for that. I don't do well with anesthetic so I guess we will see how long ill need to stay. I know at least one night so ill be packing a bag for sure
