Da Vinci hysterectomy scheduled today for May 7th

Today I scheduled my Da Vinci hysterectomy. May 7th...2 weeks from tomorrow. A lot faster than I expected due to a cancelation. I was diagnosed with endometrios March 24th. Dr is taking everything including ovaries. My uterus is stuck to my bladder as well by scar tissue from my previous c section. I am soon to be 50 years old. I am sure the panic will set in but for now I am just numb. I guess I have a lot to read about preparing myself and my family for this. Any tips?

This is such an overwhelming experience. Your emotions, nerves and feelings are very normal. This is one tough surgery to digest and process.

I found the most helpful items were:
-Meals in the freezer that you can just pop in the microwave
-Get easy food for breakfasts (cold cereal, oatmeal, yogurt) and lunches (pre-made frozen lunches)
-Prepare recovery corner with blankets and pillows
-Loose fitting clothes.
