Another Swelly Belly Question

I was wondering if the Doctor's skill has anything to do with swelly belly? I didn't get any swelly belly except for about 3/8 of an inch in my fat tissue on my lower abdomen. It was fluid, I could actually feel it flowing like fingers of water into the area when I stood up. And it would slowly dissipate when I Laid down. And I was way more active than I was supposed to be. That is when the DH was at work. He was constantly making me stop doing one thing or another. So, why didn't I get it? Are there lot's of us who didn't and we just don't hear about it cause it's not a problem? Was my Doctor that good? Was it some treatment I didn't receive? What gives?

Lucky you! I don't know if the doctor gets the credit or your body's ability to heal well.

Mine is finally starting to go down (4 weeks post-op) but I wonder if it will ever be gone. But honestly if that is the worst thing I have to deal with I can't complain.

Hi I am another lucky one who never had to deal with swelly belly. Thank goodness. I don't know what causes it or makes it miss some of us but am glad. I also was very active after surgery so maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway congrats and Good Luck with the rest of your healing.

Hiya, I still have my swelly belly - 4th week post op. I can see it going down slowly as the days passed. My belly swells more if I over-exert in the day like sat up for too long. If I walked too fast and for long distances, the area around my stitches will ache. All these symptoms go away once I lay down and rest.

I am sure our swelly bellies will go away in our own healing time. Unsightly, yes. But, I am glad to be alive and well.
