Do all of our incisions look the same?

Mine is about 6" bikini cut and still looks dark. I'm sure that will fade with time. Funny: When my doctor told me he was going to give me a bikini cut, I told him I hadn't worn a bikini in 20 years. He said "Yeah, but it's a fond memory isn't it?"

My incision looks like a train track running between my hips. It is about 6 inches long, my doctor asked me if I thought it was amazing that he got my coconut sized fibroids out of such a small incision. I still don't know if he was being sarcastic or not, to me it's not a small incision.

How does everyone else's look?
Mine looked like a train track for about a month after I got the staples out. I put vitamin E oil on it everyday which seemed to help.

Do all of our incisions look the same?

My vertical scar from surgery the end of last December is 12 inches long. It winds around my navel and, despite twice daily application of Bio Oil or cocoa butter it is still dark red. At the ends it is about a half inch of dark red. I wonder if I lived in the US whether I would consider suing. It makes me very angry. The first time my GP saw it she seemed surprised it was so long. Of course she would not comment beyond that. I wonder why they made such a mess. Perhaps they thought as I was 52 it didn't matter any longer what my body looked like.

Do all of our incisions look the same?

Mine is an 8 inch bikini cut. My Dr told me that the people assisting her suggested adding a vertical cut up to my belly button because my fibroids were so large. I am happy she didn't agree. Scar is the same one from my two c-sections so it's something I have lived with for sixteen years.

Alienor, I'm sorry you're so unhappy with your scar. Have you tried emu oil? Strange concept I know but it can work!
Nice to see a fellow British person on here! Take care x

Do all of our incisions look the same?

In a previous surgery when I had a 10 pound Dermoid tumor, I had a vertical scar from my Belly button all the way down. My Dr used staples and it looked like a railroad track for awhile and then healed up nicely. It just takes time. I have pictures, but don't klnow how to post them here.

Mine is about 8" underneath my stomach, a little above my bikini line (C-Section scar too). It's kind of like a half moon shaped. I have dissovable stitches too.

Mine is a 12 cm (yes, I mean cm, not inches) vertical cut, from belly button down to pubic bone. It does look like my belly is cut in half, bulging on either side of the incision, but I dont care. I was never a bikini wearer, anyway! Hopefully it will fade and the bulge will lessen.
