6 weeks out, still spotting?

Hey Ladies,
I had my hyst in beginning of April. I'm still spotting daily, (enough to soak a liner), and my mom said it's normal, but my Dr talked to my hubby after surgery, and said 2 weeks.

I see my surgeon on Tuesday afternoon, for a lovely full internal, (since the cervix was removed as well) and I guess I'll mention the spotting.
The other thing that concerns me is that 3 of my incisions are still open, and I see a wound Dr for those.
Other then that, I'm doing good, I have another 3 weeks off of work, but am doing great!

Have a amazing weekend!
Amanda

Re: 6 weeks out, still spotting?

Hmm I think there are others here who've had spotting past the 6 week mark. I'm only 3 weeks and I have a lot of discharge. I've been having discharge or spotting since day 1.

Re: 6 weeks out, still spotting?

I haven't had discharge, just a "bloody" spotting daily. Almost like a period, but soo much lighter.

Is it bright red? And how often are you soaking a liner?

Re: 6 weeks out, still spotting?

I was spotting (just enough to fill a panty liner) last week and when I called my Dr., he said, ".......oh, don't worry about that, it's just a mini period since we left your cervix in." So, just when I thought I was through with buying panty shields, I will now have to keep a box on hand *ugh*

Re: 6 weeks out, still spotting?

akeller,
I spotted for 6 weeks and then had a follow-up appt. The doctor had to treat a couple of places with silver nitrate to stop it. I had a stitch that had not healed and some granulated tissue that was still bleeding. It took another week after that for the bleeding to stop. Now just have some light yellow and sometimes pink tinged discharge. I go back again next week.

Re: 6 weeks out, still spotting?

There is an article on here that said if you kept your cervix you will have "mini periods". You should look it up.

Re: 6 weeks out, still spotting?

Unless I'm reading wrong her cervix was removed. I had some new bleeding start recently that would actual gush at times. It was from some of the cuff stitches that had come undone. The doctor used silver nitrate and monsels cream to help stop it. I'm only 3 weeks out though. I'd be sure to bring it up when you see your doctor on Tuesday. Good luck!
