TVH Question??? (children mentioned)

I am scheduled to have a TVH Friday the 26th. I have read several articles saying that it is possible to have it done vaginally if you have had previous vaginal births. I have 3 children and they were all c-sections because "the babies wouldn't fit). I was wondering if you ladies thought that vaginal births matter in whether you can have a vaginal hysterectomy or not. Thanks ahead of time!

I never gave birth and had a TVH, no problems. My uterus was a normal size so that wasn't an issue. I think if your Dr scheduled a TVH they are expecting it to work out in your case. You can always ask if problems are expected but generally the Dr let's you know in advance, and plans according to your situation. My TVH went well and recovery was easy-----I hope yours will go well, too.

I had a TVH and had never had children. My uterus was enlarged and my gyn had to remove a fibroid to get my uterus out, but I had no complications. My doctor said it was a textbook surgery.

I never had kids and I had a LAVH. Your doctor has to take a look at things (your pelvic structure, size and placement of fibroids) and then can make the call about whether it can be removed vaginally, but I've known women with really small builds (and no kids) who have had LAVH or LSH, so...check with your surgeon and be optimistic!
