Re: Breast tenderness

I'm not as far as you in recovery, but I've felt just the opposite. I've never been one that really liked having my breasts...played with (TMI...sorry, don't really know how to put that). But since surgery, I've really enjoyed having my hubby play with them. It no longer hurts or feels uncomfortable. I'm super happy we can both enjoy that much right now since we can't do other things until after the first of the year. I'm so looking forward to that, too, though.

I also kept my ovaries.

Re: Breast tenderness

I used to get horribly sore breasts when I ovulated, some months so bad I could barely handle wearing a bra. Was this a problem for you before surgery? Maybe your hormones have kicked into overdrive as a result of the surgery and will settle down again in a while. I hope that is the case for you. I've heard cabbage leaves can ease breast pain for women weaning, so they might help you. I think it's the cooling effect of the leaves that helps, so maybe you could try applying cold packs a see what happens. If all else fails, call your doc and ask for advice.

My doc said that since estrogen is stored in fat some of us have larger reserves then others and that te breast tenderness is normal untill those reserves are used up! I had that tenderness for a week and a half it was worse then PMS tenderness for me.

Re: Breast tenderness

I have no ovaries and am on the .1mg estradiol patch. Breast tenderness has been ongoing since my surgery six weeks ago. My doctor said that this may be "forever" or may subside she doesn't know for sure. She suggested we give it a few months and see what happens with the patch and take it from there. If need be we can decrease the dosage. Until then I'll just keep being very careful as to what bumps that area. Best of luck to you too
