Upcoming surgery 3/17 - type of hysterectomy?

I didn't have to worry about insurance coverage, because I live in Canada, where the health care system is publicly funded. He wanted to do an LAVH, because he was worried about future cervical fibroids, among other things; I pushed for a supracervical approach, because my cervix was perfectly healthy, with no history of cancer or other issues, and my research indicated that I'd be better off keeping it. I would recommend doing your own research, and talking to your surgeon, so you can decide what's best for your individual situation. Best wishes for whatever you decide!

Re: Upcoming surgery 3/17 - type of hysterectomy?

Wow..Did you have difficulty urinating? I have fibroids not sure how.many or how big afraid to know which I know I need to know.

What is the benefit of keeping cervix? I'm hoping to salvage one ovary since my other one has a cyst again.

I'm so appreciative to you and all you can reply.and share their Journey of the hysterectomy. A textbook reading is just that and I'm definitely not a textbook answer person. My life would be easier if things worked for me but if it is weird, nerdy or has never happened before that is me and that is why I'm so scared of having surgery
