TAH with removal of ovary and cervix

I had to have everything taken out as well. My doc gave me an estrogen shot in recovery that covered me for the first 30 days. Now I am on oral estrace. I am going to ask for testosterone when I check back in in 3 months.

The only symptoms of menopause were the anxiety and cognitive issues. Good Luck!

I am on the HRT patch Climara .1
I woke up in recovery wearing it. I LOVE IT! I have not noticed and side effects. I have had ZERO menopausal symptoms and in fact feel better than I did pre surgery. You put in on and forget about it for a week. (patch gets changed once a week.) I would definetly recommend the name brand patch. The generics do not stick well at all. My dr. will only prescribe the name brand.

I recovered very quickly for my surgery. I was back at work (desk job) after 2 weeks. For having the abdominal surgery, my dr was very surprised that I was able to return to work so soon. I think the better physical shape you are in pre surgery, the easier the surgery is. I am very active. The patch is great for exercising.
