Re: Realistic Expectations for Back to Work Date - Advice Needed

I agree with All the above. I teach and coach volleyball and basketball I would request 4 weeks if possible. I unfortunately started back after one week with basketball workouts. I am only three weeks now and I am teaching full time, coaching volleyball and basketball and it is extremely hard. I have a hard time saying no and since I started back so early people began to expect more ad more. I wish I would have just taken the time because no one would have disputed. Now I am worried I have ripped something in my stomach! It is better to have more time than not enough!

I didn't feel like doing much for the first two weeks but I started responding to some emails from home during the third week. I don't know if I wasn't able to concentrate on more involved projects or just didn't want to but I didn't do anything that involved much analysis or extended concentration. I was tired for the first four weeks - needed to take at least one nap per day and get a good night's sleep. If you can do some work from home to gradually get back into it that would probably be nice so you can see how it goes.
Thanks for the advice...I appreciate it! I am worried about the work aspect, but getting more and more worried about the actual surgery. So glad to have found this board.
