3 week post LAVH

I had my LAVH on June 20th and it was an up & down recovery. The first week was hell and with every week it has gotten a little better. Currently at my 3 week mark and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The more active I am, the worse I feel at night. I experience the swelly belly every night along with stinging at my incision site. I have trouble sleeping every night and I've become reliant on sleep aids. The biggest issue with me now is depression. I just can't shake this overwhelming sad feeling. I pray constantly but I know that we have been through a Lot and this is all part of the recovery,

Hey. I will be 3 weeks post lavh this fri. Im sorry to hear that your having depression.i am 33 and have suffered from depression and anxiety since i was 17 and have been on medication ever since. My dr.told me depression is normal after something like this because its a shock to our system. My worries eased after i found out that i wouldent have been able to have another baby anyway.because i was upset that i made the wrong choice with a hysterectomy. If your depression gets worse please talk to your dr. I know its a horrible feeling. I hope you feel better soon. And praying does help.u do it all of the time too as i have always been a worry wart and im learning to cast my care onto the lord. God bless

Week 3 is awful!! Thought i would have a nervous breakdown, and most people on the recovery page say the same things, ovaries or not. Relieve your stress in any way you can, and if its bad do talk to your dr. Week 4 was the start of good things for many of us, hope it is for you, too!

I felt same way I yell at husband and u kept my ovaries, I was crying over anything I was just over waiting to get better

Thanks ladies this morning it was horrible but after praying and talking to a loved one it got better. I had my 1st outing yesterday. I went to see a movie and it was a bit uncomfortable, I ended up with a little swelly belly and pain. Today I visited my grandma and walked in her garden and I'm not sure if I'm doing to much but I'm very uncomfortable, having sharp pains, cramps and have had more discharge. My 3 week appt. is on Wednesday wish me luck.
