How long will cramping last post hysterectomy?

How long will the cramping last. That seems to feel worse than the actual incision area. Also is it normal for the hospital to keep you on an epidural for 2 days. I was in the hospital for 4 days and unable to move until day 3. The surgery took 4.5 hours and I had a TAH BSO.

I had a different type hysterectomy, but had cramping at times for the 1st 3 weeks. In my case, they were not severe, but pain type and duration vary a lot with the individual. I never had an epidural so have no experience there. I hope your pain is improving, do let your Dr know if it gets worse or you are concerned.
