Sex after laparoscopic hysterectomy: LSH

When were you or are you cleared for sex after an LSH? My dr. says I am cleared at 4 weeks. My DH and I plan to have our reunion the weekend of the 16th. I am a little nervous but dr. says that since I kept cervix that it should feel no different than pre-op. If you have already resumed sexual activity, would you agree?

I was cleared at 2 weeks. I didn't feel ready at that point and waited until 4 weeks. It was worth the wait

i was cleared at two weeks and everything was fine. i felt no difference.

I'm just now at 2 weeks and still have enough belly tenderness that sex is out of the question. I mean, if you're on the bottom, won't your partner's weight make the bruising and incision sites hurt?

Bean Dog,

My DH is 6'6" and about 300 lbs, so I'm expecting to make some adjustments when the time comes. May have to turn the tables on him, so to speak.

2 weeks! No problem at all. I did, however, begin to have discharge at about 2.5 weeks, for about 10 days, so actually ended up waiting til week 4 at that point. Better than ever

I was cleared about a week and a half after surgery. However we waited until 2 wks because I was still sore on my left side (had quite a bruise on that side of my belly). It's no different than prior to surgery only now we don't have to plan it around when I was bleeding.

Well, we had our weekend and it was wonderful. It was not much different. I felt a little tender with the deeper penetration but guess that would be so if it had been over a month with no sex without the surgery. Sorry so graphic...

thats great news becky once you are completely relaxed and not wondering if it will hurt, it will get better.
