what are your changes in weight??

Hi little chicken,
I had a TAH/BSO w/vertical incision...before surgery, I bought big, big, big underwear and some comfy, stretchy pj's (pants & gowns) that could be seen by visitor's - I used the hospitals gowns during my stay though, because of how huge my belly was (I remember seeing it the first time and wondering if they left an oversized basketball in there!) and because of any spotting/staining issues. It also would have been exhausting to keep lowering a waistband everytime the nurses/doctor came in to check the incision or anything else so I dressed the last day just to go home. I pretty much lived in my pjs for about 2 weeks, though I got silly about 10 days post-op and tried to put on regular underwear - the pressure from the waistband about drove me through the roof!!! I have lost 25 lbs since surgery and though I am not as swollen in my abdomen since before and right after my surgery, I still get swelly belly and feel tender. Don't know if the weight loss is permanent but it has helped keep me from having to buy anything bigger.
I start work in 3 weeks (AGH!!!) and know being on my feet all day will prob have some impact on my swelling - wondering if a support panel would help or if the pressure would still drive me crazy????
Anyways, just look for comfy clothing and rest, rest, rest!!! Looks like everyone is different with their weight loss or gain but one thing is universal, you will have a swollen, tender tummy at least a couple of weeks after - so take it easy & comfy!
All the best to you for your surgery & recovery,
take care
