Over-doers gut ache at almost 6 weeks.

Hi everyone,
I got a message to leave a progress report. I am new here and this is my first post. I had a DaVinci hysterectomy. I kept my ovaries and that it it. I started out feeling rough, very similar pain to my c-sections and I had a giant, spectacular bruise on my lower abdomen where I have a mass of herniated scar tissue. That hurt for about 3 weeks, but is better now. Last week I started feeling a lot better so I foolishly signed up to be a chaperone on my son's 6th grade field trip. Learn from my mistakes. Your harpoon marks and gut cannot take the forces from the inertia on the turns on a school bus going through the spaghetti bowl in the Chicago Loop! I needed a Norco after that. I felt really achy for three days, but now, the fourth day, I am feeling better.

My biggest fear with my hysterectomy was that I would ruin my sex life. I don't know the answer yet. I am diabetic and probably wont try anything until 8 weeks just to make sure I heal.

Thanks for all the support on this site. It is great.

Re: Over-doers gut ache at almost 6 weeks.

Take it easy. Remember that regardless of procedure full healing takes 6-12 months. Six weeks is just the initial recovery time. Take good care of yourself.

i waited nine weeks to have sex and it still wasnt good cause i was scared about hurting down there. i was too focused on messing self up.but just gradually get around to sex.
my DH has been very understanding but now i am having dreams of him cheating on me.i guess this is subconscious speaking to self cause we've been married 11 years

I'm a couple of weeks behind you, and I don't envy you that bus ride. Glad to hear that you felt up to it, though. It gives the rest of us something to shoot for.
