I feel out of control since I can't do anything with kids and house work....I am trying to enjoy and let go of my controling attitude, but it's hard. this is another lesson i am positve God's teaching me.

Oh Nicole

You're expecting too much too soon! I was still in hospital at the 3 day mark. You need to give your body a chance to start healing. Really, you're only talking 72 hours since surgery, which is more than early days.

Your body will ache ... bits of it, parts of it, all over ... it's had one heck of a bashing!

It may be worth having a word with your doctor to see if a change of pain medication might help.

Try to relax and be patient. The less you do now, the quicker and more successful your recovery will be. At this point, to try to do anything more than eat, sleep and breathe could be a disaster! You're looking at weeks, not days, to see a real improvement.

Keep your chin up!

You just had major surgery 3 days ago-right now you need to just be thinking about YOU. Forget housework and get some help with kids. If you don't feel any better call doctor. I ended up stopping prescription meds after 6 days till I could end up talking to doctor as I was feeling worse and worse. He gave me a new prescription and the headaches etc stopped -and just had the pain from the surgery to contend with. Get a lot of rest and remember it takes time--a lot more time than I ever realized. Good Luck.

Hang in there, it does get better. You are very early in recovery yet. Your meds, however, should be providing you some comfort. Consult you doc. I am 2 weeks post TAH and pretty much uncomfortable. Not pain but just can't be comfortable. It's the cabin fever that is getting to me. Hang in there. This website is a great place to find comfort and a good place to know that you are not alone in what your feeling.
