Pain in my incision

Hi, ladies.

I had a TAH on 3/14/08. I've been feeling really good...walking a lot. I haven't had to use my pain meds for over a week now.

The last couple of days, however, I've been getting sharp pains in my incision and weird pains in my stomach just above my incision. Is this just the normal cycle of healing? I'm starting to wonder if I'm doing too much.

My DH and in-laws have been great - they don't let me do any housework, etc. I have been taking my dogs outside though, which means I have to bend down often. I haven't experienced any pain or been uncomfortable doing this but now I'm starting to worry since my incision has started feeling weird.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

Shannon

I'm sorry you're experiencing this.

Any new pains should, ideally, be reported to your doctor ~ if only to put your mind at rest. It's always best to err on the side of caution if you're concerned about any aspect of your recovery. Bending, however, is strongly advised against during the initial weeks of healing.

Will you let us know what you find out? I hope it eases very soon. Take care!

Pain in my incision

I had post op yesterday and asked Dr. about shooting pains in vagina, rt. thigh, pelvis, and he said it was normal. You should check with your Dr. Have you been for post-op? I see our surg. were a day apart.
