I'm Having Regular Post Menopausal Bleeding.

Hi. I'm new to the forum and I'm having issues issues with post menopausal bleeding. I'm 53 years old, and have been menopausal for more than 4 years. I'm currently on HRT, but haven't had any bleeding issues for as long as I've used hormone replacement. I was experiencing some bleeding about 3 months ago, had a transvaginal ultrasound that showed some thickening of my uterine lining. I then had a Hysteroscopy which was normal and doctor sent me on. My way, this was in July. Since then, I've had at least two more episodes of irregular bleeding...not sure what I should do? The doctor says everything is fine, but I don't feel like it is. I left a message for her to call me back to see what if anything I can do. Anyone else experience this, and how did you handle it? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Re: I'm Having Regular Post Menopausal Bleeding.

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy 2 years ago for endometrial cancer stage 1a grade1.You need to contact your doctors office and let them know about the two new episodes of bleeding. If your doctor continues to say everything is fine you need to get a second opinion from another doctor. You should not be experiencing this. Good luck to you. I pray that you get some answers as to what is going on.

Re: I'm Having Regular Post Menopausal Bleeding.

My suggestion is get a second opinion and ask for a d and c. Any post menopausal bleeding is concerning. Defiantly push for a d and c.

Thanks so much for the feedback monica1963 and Melissa, I greatly appreciate that you've shared your personal experience. I hope I hear from the doctor tomorrow. This concerns me very much as cancer of the reproductive organs runs in my family.

Re: I'm Having Regular Post Menopausal Bleeding.

If you're asking for advice, I'll be as blunt as I can: Find a new doctor, first thing in the morning.

It took me FIVE doctors to finally get diagnosed properly.

Ask everyone you know for the best OB/GYN they know. Check them out on health grades, make multiple appointments if you have to.

With a family history like that, you don't want to spend one more day waiting on your doctor to say "oh, it's probably nothing, let's wait a few more months".

You may have what I had, adenomyosis, which is completely benign, which causes endometrial thickening and heavy bleeding. But you need to get diagnosed properly, and quickly.

I paid for my medical records from the doctor I had been going to for years, and brought them to my new doctor (the 5th one), and he read them, shaking his head. He finally took the time to get me to a proper diagnosis.

Re: I'm Having Regular Post Menopausal Bleeding.

Thanks so much Summer2015. I am researching other physicians in my area that deal with my specific issues. Have a great day!
