Really Frightened
I'm scheduled for a TVH (keeping ovaries) in just over a month. Have a uterine prolapse (self-diagnosed at 6 wks postnatal but midwife and doc both didn't believe me until 12 wks when it was too advanced to do anything but surgery).
Just so scared at leaving behind my three and a half year old and my 10mth old baby if anything should go wrong.
I was never scared of surgery before but had such a traumatic birth last time (haemorraged and had to have blood transfusions) that I'm terrified now.
Please reassure me ladies!

I am also having a TVH with A and P repairs, due to uterine prolapse, cystocele and rectocele. I've been told it's not too bad,but you will be very tired. My problem is getting worse every day so that by the time I have the surgery,in March,I'll be ready for it. Make sure that you have plenty of help with those children.

really frightened
Hi,
I think most of us can really understand your reluctance to :#1 have this done...#2 leave your babies...#3 everything else that goes with this. If I may, while at the castle, they will take every precaution for your well-being, as well as try to keep you as comfortable as they can. I just wanted to drop in and wish all the best for you and your family.

Really Frightened
Hi all,
I am 13 days post op from a tvh with a & p repairs and can report it went off without a hitch. I was in no pain...just a heavy pelvic feeling. They will take care of you to make sure you are comfortable.
I had prolapse for years but finally got the courage to do something about it and I'm sooo glad I did.
You will be fine and home before you know it. Fear of the unknown affects us all. But we all got thru it and you will too.
I will be praying for you for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Take a deep breath, ladies and it will be over before you know it.
Here's a big and heading your way.
Blessings,

frightened
I am also frightened about lap/vag and leaving my 7 and 5 year olds at home, but I'm looking at relief of pain and giving them their mother back to them. My surgery is due to endo that was diagnosed last April, but believe it been there my entire adulthood as a woman. My doc says it should be a simple procedure but after researching on the net I believe it will be different. I know the wait is hard. Good luck. Tam
P.S. surgery date is Feb 6th.
