Re: Help me please witth the burning

Yes!!! I am 12 days post op. I can't sit in a chair or stand more than 15 minutes. I am only comfortable laying down. It's my left side which had the most work done. I had a TAH w/LSO. I have no other issues. I feel like I should be past this point of burning stabbing radiating pain. Calling my docs office tomorrow.

Re: Help me please witth the burning

I also feel the burning sensation when i get up after sitting, at the incision and sometimes above it too.
I had my two week post-op checkup today and I asked my dr about the burning. He said that the nerves that were cut during surgery are trying to connect and that causes the burning sensation. He said that as long as there was no redness or discharge, that the burning was normal.
Happy healing

Re: Help me please witth the burning

I had my TAH in January. I had burning for about 2 weeks post op. It is probably the nerves that were cut regenerating. It will eventually go away. As always though, if you are concerned you can always call your md for advice. I am just relaying how it was for me. I am now 7 weeks out and do not have it anymore although at times I feel sore.

Also, I used a shower bench when taking a shower for the first couple of weeks. That way if i felt pulling or pain I could sit down.
