No Hormones?

Some drs don't like to give hormones if there were cancer cells present, or you had endometriosis and kept your ovaries, as the hormones feed the endo. I don't know why your dr does not want to give you hormones, but you should call and ask. Don't hesitate to call your dr and ask these questions, they can help you best. In my situation, I had TAH/BSO and immediately went on hormones, I never had one hot flash or sleepless night. I did have some weepy/feeling sorry for myself days because of pain, but hormonally its been great. Mr dr knew exactly how much estrogen to prescribe according to my age/weight, its been wonderful in that dept. If you have read other posts you will see that not all hystersisters take hormones. Others take hormones and still have problems, the amount has to be regulated towards your specific needs. You aren't stuck if you have symptoms, there are alternative methods to help and you should work closely with your dr. Don't be afraid to call and ask for help. Take care and pamper yourself while you're a princess! Lora

No Hormones?

I'm a week and a half post surgery and I haven't had hormones yet, either. I thought we were going to start right away, but he found endo on my bladder. I'm not sure if we are waiting for that or for symptoms to start....I haven't really talked about it. But so far I have no syptoms. My GYN will start them and get me going with them, but my PCP will work close with me to keep everying working good. He's worked with me regarding my depression and antidepressants, so he feels he knows me quite well...we have a mutual trust built. I hope things go okay for you.
