Re: Let's post our triumphs :)

I love this!! I've had a really easy recovery so far. I'm now 17 days post op. No pain meds for a while now. I can shower but I haven't been brave enough to tackle my legs just yet. I'm going to try that tomorrow I think. I've only been out once, last night to my dad's retirement party and it was a huge success. Believe it or not I was hardly sore at all today. Tomorrow I'm hoping to venture out to the bank and my insurance company. I've been doing some light cleaning and folding laundry. I'm proud of myself and congratulations to all of us for our milestones!!

Re: Let's post our triumphs :)

I dig this thread! I had my hysterectomy on the 8of March. I don't have a support system so, I've been running my daycare and doing a lot since I came home on the 9th. But I'm happy that now I'm doing it with little discomfort. my energy is coming back, my hair isn't falling out in clumps any more. I'm feeling optimistic about the future. Happy recovery!

11 days post-op I have accomplished

-cooking dinner for the family
-shaving my legs
-only taking ibprofen
-sleeping on my side
-sit up straight without pain

I actually feel wonderful but I know not to overdue it still taking it slow despite how nice I feel

Re: Let's post our triumphs :)

I have been able to wash dishes, take micro-braids down, sew and plan on doing a lil laundry downstairs today.
I can't believe how good I feel already.
The only thing I have left to accomplish right away is poop, lol.
Life is good, glad to be here!!!

My surgery was a week ago - Monday, March 18th. My triumphs include:
-BM on Thursday and Sunday (but yesterday's was laxative induced!)
-being able to walk a couple houses down from where I live a couple times yesterday
-being able to stay awake during an entire movie
