March 6 Post Op Problems

Lsh hysterectomy March 6...I still feel swollen....no hot flashes or night sweats. Irritable, weight gain, vaginal dryness, crying
Doctor wants me go on prempro, but I'm not having
night sweats or hot flashes, so I really don't see
how it will help??

i too still feel swollen. i don't know if the prempro will help you but if you trust your doc, give it a try and see what happens. i was on it for a while before the hyster and it did help me, however, it's not for everyone. get a second opinion maybe from your general doctor. he probably knows you alot better than a specialist...i know mine does. he changed my hormones and i am started to get rid of some of the irritating factors....now if i could just get DH to take them maybe he would disappear along with the other irritating factors...lmao

I personally think you should give the prempro a try. I haven't used it myself but many of the symptoms you describe are hormone related. Not having hot flashes doesn't mean you don't need something. There is a list of symptoms of too much/too little estrogen, progesterone and testosterone . It might be helpful for you to read through this and see if you can associate more of your symptoms with hormone imbalance.

I hope you find some relief and get to feeling better soon. The swelling lasts a long time for some women. It never hurts to ask your dr about it though, just in case there is something else going on.
