Just curious - Worried Too Small for daVinci Hysterectomy - Thoughts?

My doctor has decided he wants to use the da Vinci method to do my total hysterectomy....two years ago I had my gallbladder removed and that was attempted with da Vinci and didn't work out because the surgeon said I was to small....I'm just wondering if this could also be an issue with this surgery??? I'm going to bring it up at my next appointment but wanted to get you ladies opinions.

Have you gotten any second opinions? Since this worries you, it might be worth it to talk with another doctor.

I'm not doing da Vinci, so I don't know much about it. I'll be doing LAVH, and one of the questions I asked my doc had to do about his conversion rate: How often has he had to change from a vaginal to an abdominal surgery? Perhaps you could discuss something similar with your doc.

Talk to your doctor about what the other doctor said. It could simply be an experience or comfort-level situation. Some doctors are better than others with the same technology.

Everyone is different, and every situation is different.

Thank you ladies!!! Sadly being a military spouse has made it difficult to obtain medical records when moving from state to state but I have no worries about talking with my doctor so hopefully we get everything covered at my pre-op appointment
