Yes! amazing that someone asked that question! I have a very large uterus and several large fibroids and have been considering surgery for about a year (while they keep growing...). The last couple of weeks I've noticed an occasional fluttering/vibration in my lower abdomen - almost like very early fetal kicking! (I know I am NOT pregnant - 48 yrs old, although I still regular periods, and husband with vasectomy.) I also know that it is not my stomach and not intestinal gas. Definitely something else. I'm going to ask my OB/GYN about it this Thursday when I'm in, because the last time I felt anything like it was in early pregnancy (17 yrs ago).

Is that what yours feels like??

Vibration

Yes, exactly. I was beginning to feel silly for posting as I did not see anyone answering. I had it a few months ago for about a week straight. It was very annoying. Wonder what it is?

Not sure, just a guess, as I have had the same sensations, and had them before the surgery as well (I also had bladder and rectal repairs). I am wondering if it's not bladder spasms, like they talk about in the commercials. It's in the right area for them. I had some minor problems with incontinence before I had my gyno exam and found out that I had a prolapse, and I don't think my "leaking" was related to the fluttering feeling, and I don't have any problems connected with the flutters now, except that it feels really wierd. What do you gals think?

Me too ladies. I have very large fibroids and abdominal hyst scheduled for 1/21. I just got over a UTI. During the heighth of the infection I felt the same thing very strong on the right side. I assumed it was the bladder. However, I also frequently feel the same feeling more to the center of the uterus. Since I've never felt this before the arrival and growth of fibroids, I assume it all has to do with things pushing up against each other. Other than that, I'm open to any other thoughts on this!

Vibrating ovary

Hello,

Yes, I have had a very strange vibration in my right ovarian area on and off for the past few months. It feels like the constant twitch in your eye that we all sometimes get. I can't make it go away with exercise, pain meds or rest. I mentioned it to my doctor and she had never heard of it before.

I am scheduled for a LAVH + RSO on 12/21/04 and am excited to get back the pathological report -- perhaps it will give us a clue.

Best regards,
Crista

This is very strange! I thought it was just me overreacting to what was happening inside. Now it sounds like we are all having the same kind of feeling. Vibration is the perfect word for it. It also reminded a little of the feeling I got before having a UTI. If anyone finds out what in the world it is please let us know!

I also have had this feeling, a few months in a row now. This month I paid close attention and felt it for two days in a row. The timing seems to be around when I SHOULD ovulate on my regular cycle, but when I spot on and off, I never am sure when my real period begins! Anyway, the spotting and cramping began a day after the spasms stopped, so maybe it is connected to ovulation? It feels close to the front of my pelvis, on the left side. That makes me think it is connected either with the bladder, ovariy or fibroids, and not intestines. It does feel like early fetal movement, but more rythmic. I thought the "twitching" description was perfect. I f anyone finds out what it is, I'm anxious to know!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Hi Ladies!

You are all NOT crazy! I posted about this about a month or so ago. The response I got was that it's the fibroid tumors that are causing this "early pregnancy feeling".

That's why sometimes people will refer to their fibroids as "little aliens". I, too, felt like I did when I was about 5 months pregnant.

Good luck to you guys!

Merry Chrismakwannuka (sp).

I've not had that one, but let me say it for all of us: Thanks to this great site for letting us share these feelings and learn we are not crazy after all!
