Question about vaginal cuff

I just got home from a followup appointment. Doc asked me how I was feeling and I told him that my cuff has been hurting.

He said, "How do you know?"

WHAT? What do you mean, how do I know? I can FEEL IT.

When I told him I could feel it, he looked at me like I had said I'd been abducted by aliens.

Why do so many doctors think we can't feel anything but the opening of our vagina?

So frustrating.

Re: Persistent and Pervasive MYTH Too Many Gynos Believe

Most of the nerves in the vagina are concentrated near the opening. The rest of the vagina has comparatively few nerves. Your doctor is apparently confusing "few" with "none." :-(

I have a male dr too and sometimes I think maybe a female would have been more ideal just so I would at least be able to think my dr understands completely.

Ever heard the saying that a male gynecologist is like an auto mechanic who's never owned a car?

Lol 😂 so true!

I can't imagine being a female urologist telling a male patient that his testicles or any part of his penis doesn't hurt.

I remember at my 2 week, I told my gyn that my vaginal cuff talks to me all the time. Frankly it was yelling at me that it had stitches in it, lol. He laughed and said the pain is normal due to healing. If he had told me it was in my head, I would have rolled him with my giant swollen belly.

Hahaha! I love the way you put that. My cuff is definitely screaming at me. I wish it would get angry enough to give me the silent treatment.
