Ovaries shutting down

I'm new here and don't have a date yet. My circumstances seem to be a lot different than most here. I have many prolapse issues. Anyway, does anyone know how common it is for the ovaries to quit functioning after a hysterectomy? Does age seem to have anything to do with it? I am 40. This is one of my main concerns right now. Thanks!

Ovaries shutting down

From what I have read in my research, it is hard to say for whom this will happen. I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

It seems that it is only a temporary thing, in that they will wake up again after their nap.

I've heard of some women being given a low dose of HRT to hold them over until the ovaries decide to awaken.

Hope that helps.
