anybody out there

It's just past midnight here.
Because of bladder repair I am still in hospital with catheter.
(4 - no 5 days post op)
Can't sleep. Neighbour is snoring like hell.
At least I have notebook + internet access + hystersisters.

Anybody talk to me? Cheer me up?

thx
loc

Re: anybody out there

Hi Ioc, I am here! How did your hyster go (other than still having the catheter?) I am now 3 weeks post op and it seems I have a bladder infection so take advantage of your rest and being in the right place!! You don't want to get an infection like me!

You are in Germany? I am in Australia!

Re: anybody out there

Hi, it gets better. Can the nurses get you earplugs so you can sleEp? I hope you're not in pain. When I couldn't sleep I watched TV (no roommate) but the volume didn't work. So I had repair guys at 11 PM, 1 AM, and 2 at 6 AM on fixing it. I was amazed but I got to listen to it plus be entertained by repair guys. I went home the next day. Can you eat? Maybe they could bring you a snack or drink. Its afternoon here. HS can maybe help you sleep or at least feel better.

Re: anybody out there

Thank you, dear sisters from Maryland and Australia.
I am here in midnight Germany.
My hysterectomy went great. Pre-op was a nasty shock, because I thought it would be laprascopic - but gyn and urologist (nice competent women) decided it would be better, more "durable" to do it abdominal.
I recovered very quickly - no surprise, lying lazy in hospital all day long, reading, sleeping, a little bit of walking, today was first day without painkillers.

Re: anybody out there

Hi:

I am in Washington state, so it is 4PM here. But my daughter is living in Germany this summer!

I slept so long after the surgery that I ended up waking at midnight and was awake most of the night, but had to be somewhat quite due to my husband sleeping on a cot. I turned on the TV with the closed captioning words!

It should get a bit better each day, but that is more noticeable week by week.

Hope your recovery goes smoothly.

Regards

Re: anybody out there

Wow if you are already without pain killers you are doing really well.

Ear plugs are a good option! Maybe ask a nurse if they can bring some to you

Re: anybody out there

loc,

Just wanted to say "HI" since you are awake. Glad to hear you are doing pretty well but sorry it went from a lap surgery to abdominal. At least you have your sisters here to keep you company. I hope you have a very fast recovery and get some sleep soon! Hugs!
