Final surgery date/Intestinal problems.

Greetings!!

This is my first post. I finally got a firm surgery date for a LAH & possible bladder repair/sling/tack/whatever! He is planning on taking everthing but my cervex on July1st at 7:30 AM. I am so looking forward to this!! Really! Too much pain for way too long.

Have cysts on my ovaries, a polyp on the outside of my uterus with blood supply & endometriosis (sp?) Ouch!! And to add insult to injury I also have ulcerative colitis.

As if that wasn't enough, I just had to have a huge kidney stone blasted on May 6th. Never had anything like that before. That is why they pushed my surgery date forward two weeks to make sure I am completely recovered from that. Now the kidney stone thing has caused my ulcerative colitis to flare up. Man....seems I can't win!

Anyone else out there have ulcerative colitis too? I have been told by my Dr that most people who have endometriosis usually have some intestinal problems as well. Did having the hysterectomy help with that as well? I've heard it might. I'm tired of being on prednisone. Makes me chubby....ok....chubbier. :-)

Final surgery date/Intestinal problems.

I'm so glad you decided to post! We're really glad to have you with us.

Sounds like you will soon be feeling much better...just to get all of that over and done with!!

To find more info on ulcerative colitis, try running a search using our search engine (little purple button at the top right of each page). You will turn up threads where this has been discussed before.

Keep reading, keep posting, and don't forget to check out the Pull Down menus on the home page (scroll to the bottom). You'll find tons of helpful information there, too.

Glad to have you here!!

Final surgery date/Intestinal problems.

I don't have ulcerative colitis, but I do have irritable bowel. I'm almost 6 weeks post-op and so far I'm doing great with the intestines. Maybe it's because they have a bit more room now and aren't squished? The endometriosis might have also been causing bowel problems. Since the surgery I've cut my irritable bowel medications down to once a day instead of twice. I can even eat and not have to worry about having to make a bathroom run!

Maybe you won't have as many flare ups once you've had your surgery.
