Any other sister's in their 20's?

I would like to know if there are any other sisters on this site in their 20's? I'm having a TAH/BSO late june. I am 27. Just wanted to hear from other ladies who have already undergone sugery or are scheduled for surgery that are in their mid-late 20's. Get back to me if you are.....I just want to discuss some concerns and also just get feedback from ladies in my age range. Thanks-Jewelz

Any other sister's in their 20's?

I'm 29, but not for long, I'll be 30 Monday. I had a surprise TAH about 2 weeks ago, my doc had to take both ovaries and uterus due to borderline ovarian cancer. This site has made me feel much less alone. I've known other women who had hysterectomies, but none my age.

Right now I'm trying to find out about surgical menopause. I'm also really concerned about osteoporosis and breast cancer--am I going to be at greater risk since I started menopause so young? Lots of reading to do and lots of questions for my doc.

Hey Potter. Sorry to hear about your loss! I hope all is well. I too am concerned about those issues. Can I ask you how your recovery is going? and how you are feeling about HRT and have you started to take it yet?

mb1011...thankyou for replying. May I ask you why you are having the surgery? I am also looking foward to a pain free life, however, I am worried about the sexual dysfunction at such a young age, and also taking HRT. I am scared to death of immediate menopause..I just feel to young to have to go through it. I think my main concern is the Sex. I enjoy it so much (although its been painful at times) I am so scared I wont be able to orgasim...or have to rely on Lubrication. Everyone around me (including my partner) assures me that this will not be a problem, but i read such different outcomes. I hope your surgery goes well and we should keep in touch!

I'm recovering pretty well. My biggest frustration is just not being able to do everyday, simple things. I'm not in a lot of pain, fortunately, but doing anything makes me soooo tired.

My gyn and I talked about HRT briefly in the hospital; because of the cancer he doesn't think I can take it. So far my only symptoms have been hot flashes and trouble sleeping. I go back for another post-op check up in 3 weeks, so I'm going to discuss this further with him and see if there's any kind of herbal supplement I can take.

About sex and lubrication--my mom told me to get Ky or something similar; she's finishing up her menopause and she's needed it.

I am having my hyst due to endo, lots of cysts, heavy periods, and pain. My doc seems to think that this will help me in the sex departmet as it is very painful right now--she also told me that i shouldnt have a problem having an orgasm, but might need the luberication. I will start HRT about 6 weeks post-op--so hopefully I can make it through those first few weeks with out too many menopause symptoms. Good luck to you.

just to let everyone know my mom had a TAH at 26 for cancer and the other day i asked her "please don't give me any details but have you ever had any trouble with sex and orgasms due to your hyst?" and her answer was "no not a one it has all been good well not all but most and when it wasn't it had nothing to due with me" so i let her know that a simple no would have done but i do feel better now
