Just need a little venting

Hello,
Well, everything is scheduled for March 22nd. I think of all the pain I am having now and wonder if this is the right thing to do. I realize for health reasons I need it done, but still wondering if it's the right thing. It's kind of confusing because I want it done to get rid of the pain and problems I constantly have, yet I still keep wondering. I think i'm just being normal but not sure.
My DH is being so wonderful about it all and said that he thinks what I am feeling is probably normal also. Just need some encouraging words I guess. This is one of the down days perhapse. Thanks everyone, you are all great here.

Paula-
Trust me, you are SO normal. The fact that most hysterectomies are not usually done on emergency basis makes you feel like it elective surgery and that the decision is all up to you. And while that is true, it definitely puts stress on you the patient. I remember vacillating so much -- the back and forth was killing my DH. I had been in pain for 2 weeks out of every month for so long, and yet, when the DR told me it was time for surgery, I freaked out. I kept wondering if I was doing the right thing and if I would regret it. But I can honestly say that I am 3 weeks post-op today and I have no regrets. The waiting is definitely the hardest part! Hang in there and vent to your hyster sisters whenever you need to.
