To help move around in bed...

Today someone told me when she had hers done, she asked for one of those triangle rings that are above the bed. She said that holding on to that to pull yourself up or help reposition yourself was very helpful.

Does anyone know if that really works? I would think it might do more harm than good with the pulling on the ring.

To help move around in bed...

Hi Scottsdale,

I did not use the ring thing because I, too, thought it would hurt more than help me. I used patience with myself. I moved very slowly and had lots of pillows around to prop up areas that I had already moved. I only had to do this for about two weeks, then I could move easier. Another item I used for getting in and out of bed was a stepstool.

Maybe someone else could give you some other options

Big

To help move around in bed...

I had one of those with my c-sections and it hurt worse than without it. I didn't have it with my TAH/BSO all I did was roll onto my side and then use my elbow and other arm to push myself up to a sitting position. That is what the nurses told me to do and it worked well for me. Good luck!

To help move around in bed...

I would think that pulling yourself up via a triangle thingie, would really strain your abdomen. Am I right in thinking this?
