painful urination & bowel movement

Please reassure me that this is noraml.
I asked my Dr's nurse and she said yes but she has been very wrong before. I am post-op since 8/25/00 with having had a LAP on 8/11/00. I had this pain with bowel movement before and was told it would go away it was associated with the uterus Adenomyosis problem etc. Sometimes I cry it is so painful, worse that having my children, by far. Any suggestions out there about questions to ask at the post-op appt and/or test to request? Unfortunately my Dr doesn't do a lot of tests for me when I ask He simply shrugs it off and says "trust me" I do have a colon rectal Dr though that is Great and he has found the HPylor ulser that my GYN wouldn't test for, and he found that I have gastritis & esophogitis with mild hi-etal hernia. All -in -all I just wonder all the time about the second opion thing although I don't want to do that for fear it will cause even more speculation and worries, besides I really do trust this Dr of mine I just want him to be more forward and do more testing. I have asked but as I had said before, he says no or famous for saying we'll talk about it more later, meaning he does not agree. I would appreciate any feed-back on this pain I have...do you have it too???

Love, rnda - ready for the full recovery & patiently waiting. God Bless all of you!

painful urination & bowel movement

Hi,
You are still very early along in your recovery, and painful bowel movements and urination are common. Your body has gone through a major surgery, and there were a lot of things moved around inside that are feeling abused right now. It takes time for everything inside to heal. It does not hurt to keep on questioning the doctor about this though. That is what he is there for. Has he seen your charts from the colon rectal doctor? If not, you may want to share these with him, so he can help you better in your recovery.
