Bladder Infections?

It's been almost ten months since my TAH and I am still suffering with constant bladder infections. I've been on several courses of anti-biotics and it still comes back. I have constant bloating, cramping, pain, back discomfort, etc. It's making my life miserable.....is this normal?? I also still bleed after intercourse.....every time! Is this normal too? Help.....I don't know where else to turn.

Thanks for any information!

Bladder Infections?

Sorry you are still suffering so long after your surgery. I have had transient problems with bladder irritability since my TAH/LSO 7 months ago. As I'm sure you will find many other sisters here who have endured this as well. Only once was there actually an infection there and believe me, I've had several screens and cultures. Have you been seen by your for these infections? What does he/she say? JMHO, but I don't think it's normal to continue to bleed with intercourse. An appointment with your gyn is most likely in order here.

me, too

I have had UTI's since I was 18 and sexually active. I am now 45 and still get them easily. I have had my UT diailated twice and had polyps removed almost two years ago.

I will be ready soon (I hope) to have intercourse with my husband again and am scared of a UTI. My uroligist said that drinking two 4oz glasses of carnberry juice is helpful. There are also cranberry pills you can take. He said to urinate right after intercourse. And, of course, drink plenty of water.

I've heard that some women do not have UTI's until after surgery.
I've had them forever. I am going to remember the dr advise and I hope it helps you, too.

Bladder Infections?

I am so sorry you are having so many problems this far out. It can be very frusterating!!

I have not had the UTI's, in fact I have only had 1 my whole life and it was after my hyst. I am now almost 2 years out and have not had one since recently. Have you seen your about all of this? I will say that bleeding like you are EVERY time you have intercourse is not normal and you really should go in and see your Dr about it. It might be an easy fix if it is granulations or could be something more. In any case I would definetly go or at lease call to be on the safe side. The bleeding may even be from the recurrent UTI's or bladder infections.

Please call your Dr and get an appt to be seen so you can put a stop to all of this misery dear sister!

Please keep us posted!!
