Pre-Op suggestions for all

I had a TAH 5/16. Feeling superbo. Some suggestions I did not see on the messsage board:
1. Work religiously on upper body strength before surgery! Helps immensely when pushing yourself out of bed.
2. Do leg squats - I find I can squat to pick up things I can't grasp with my toes! But makes you lightheaded, wish I'd have done more of them pre-op.
3. Take saltine crackers to hospital. AFTER you are ok'd to take solids & are awake at 3 a.m. with the munchies or a queasy stomach you don't have to walk down to the nurses station for some (can't figure out why they don't have steak & potatoes like I wanted). Just be EXTREMELY careful when chewing, as choking or coughing is worse than laughing!

Thanks for sharing your suggestions with us, but always discuss any suggestions/tips with your Dr first.

Your crown looks good on you. Remember to take it slow, you are still early in your recovery, plenty of fluids, and take short when you can.
