Passing Sutures At 3 1/2 Months

I had my TVH and bladder sling on 2-14-03. For the past several days I've had discomfort and pulling in my abdomen and groin. After I urinated today and wiped, I noticed some sutures on the toilet paper. I had this about 6 weeks, but am surprised that there were still sutures in there. I wonder if this could have been the cause of the new discomfort and pulling sensation. Has anyone else passed sutures this late in recovery? Part of normal recovery or should I be concerned?
Thanks for any answers anyone may be able to give me.
Sharon

Passing Sutures At 3 1/2 Months

Hi Sharon,

I really don't have any answers for you. It does seem like you're rather far along to be passing stitches. On the other hand, your reasoning makes sense about a new pain and residual stitches passing.

The best thing to do is to give your Dr. a call and see what he/she says. Let us know what you find out, ok?

Best wishes and s

Passing Sutures At 3 1/2 Months

Hi Sharon,
I'm only 4 weeks post today so I'm not really sure how long it takes for all the stitches to go away, but my gyn said it takes 3-4 months for most of the stitches todisolve. I hope everything else is okay with you. If you continue with the discomfort I would definatly call the DR. 's
